A bumper potato crop at HSAS

September 27, 2017

In case you were wondering why your child arrived home with a bunch of dirty potatoes in the book bag….   Harvest season has begun at the HSAS Farm.  Last spring, members of the Environmental Club broke up about four spuds for planting in one of the raised beds behind the school.  Five months later, students unearthed about 100 potatoes in minutes.  Lesson learned:  this is one of the easiest and more hassle-free foods that can be grown!  Next week club members will harvest basil and make pesto.
