HSAS Joins Lehman students at the Pumpkin Smash

On a perfect fall afternoon in November, a couple dozen HSAS students journeyed across the street to the Lehman Quad to smash some pumpkins.  Hundreds of pumpkins donated by the New York Botanical Garden needed to be pulverized, to prepare the old and moldy squash for the compost bin.  Students had the choices of dropping pumpkins from a high place, or slingshotting them into the Quad.  Lots of goodies were served, including loaves of pumpkin bread that HSAS students prepared in the Lehman classroom kitchen earlier in the week.
