Multicultural Celebration

Thursday, we ate.  Around a hundred  dishes were brought in by students and faculty.  The dishes represented the dozens of cultures of HSAS:  Dominican, Bengali, Hunan, Armenian, Honduran, Polish, and American, to name a few.  Thanks to Ms. Genao, the Spanish Honors Society, parent volunteers, teachers, and many others, the dishes were arrayed from one end of the cafeteria to the other for the students to enjoy during their lunch period.

Friday, we danced.  Or if we didn’t dance, we clapped, laughed, and cheered on the many student performers in our cultural celebration.  Performances included a circus-like Chinese dragon dance, a Jewish folk song, a Bollywood rave, lots of Bachata, salsa, and meringue, and of course a Woody Guthrie sing-along.
