NYC Transportation Commissioner Visits Gov classes

Polly Trottenberg, NYC Transportation Commissioner and Board Member of the MTA, visited two Government classes in mid-November.  After making a presentation on the various issues her department is wrestling with now, Commissioner Trottenberg fielded questions from students on transportation policy.  Students seemed most interested in discussing how Uber and Lyft have impacted on the rideshare economy in NYC, and how the Yellow Cab industry has had to rethink how it operates in this new digital landscape.  Also on the list was congestion pricing, fixing the subways, making our bus system more efficient, and the rise of bikeshare programs.  The HSAS community is incredibly grateful to Commissioner Trottenberg for finding time in her busy schedule to visit our humble shed, and engage us with two  hours of interesting policy discussion!
