Over 40 members of our Autumn running teams took to the paths of the Safari 5k this Saturday.
Jack McCurry and Haley Rodriguez led their squads with impressive performances despite some modest humidity and drizzle. The Men’s Team averaged 18:41 on the Safari 5k course and the Women’s Team averaged 24:09. Both Teams placed in the TOP TEN in their divisions, defeating all NYC schools that were also in the small school division.
Coach Iurato shared his satisfaction with his team’s performances, as they all had Personal Records.
Coach Elinson is grateful to have 14 of his four year athletes see the course again before graduation. While the loss of these leaders will be felt by our squad, Coach Elinson shares that he’s “excited to include our youngest members next year” on this travel race.
