Student Publications

Common Sense School Newspaper

Common Sense is written and edited by the students with an interest in journalism. Well-read by the entire student body, our periodical is diligently put together by both Mr. Elinson’s journalism class as well as by the very active Newspaper Club. The publication features articles on many topics, related to school as well as issues of importance to the greater non-school community.

Speakeasy Literary Magazine

The Speakeasy is a magazine created by students every year. Captured in the magazine are short stories, poems, photos, and other creative pieces from HSAS students.

Yearbook

The Yearbook is put together by students that take “Yearbook” as an elective class. Speak with Mr. Elinson if you are interested in contributing but are not enrolled in the elective.

Documentary Films

This is a class occasionally offered mostly to seniors. Students are allowed to create their documentary movies in this class. They learn how to work with cameras, and movie-making software such as iMovie, final cut, and various photo and audio editing programs. Archived movies or clips from the last 10 years are here.
