The members of the HSAS National Spanish Honors Society decorated the hallway in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month. In 1968, Congress passed legislation to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Week. The bill was signed by President Lyndon Baines Johnson. In 1988, Congress passed a bill extending the week into a month-long celebration. This bill was signed by President Ronald Reagan that same year.
