We will be having our 1st general meeting of our renewed NHS chapter on Tuesday 12/9 at 3PM.
All who are members and those who wish to be members in grades 10-12 are invited!
Our “New Founders” have been meeting in October & November and they have created a clear set of qualifications and expectations for membership going forward. They will share their documents with us on 12/9 and we will set a date for elections of our New Officers for the following week.
Too often a NHS chapter is only a rubber stamp that confirms that we have great grades and some volunteer hours. The New Founders have created the template for a great student run organization that will set academic standards as much as it will speak to the “H”, honor, in the membership it invites.
Looking to the great examples at our school of current service organizations like Spanish Honor Society, UNICEF and Community Service Club, the renewed NHS will further advance our school’s goals of being more than academic rigor but also a place of character development and service.
This meeting on 12/9 is open to all Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors who are interested in being part of this organization.
9th graders will be invited to apply in the spring following an apprenticeship schedule set up by our New Founders.
