The Senators showed incredible grit and determination on Tuesday afternoon, storming back with a huge late-inning rally to defeat Eleanor Roosevelt 5-3 in the opening round of the PSAL Playoffs!
Trailing late in the game, the Senators exploded for 4 runs in the 5th inning to seize control and complete the exciting comeback victory.
On the mound, David Caswell delivered a tremendous performance, battling through 6 2/3 innings while allowing just 3 runs on 4 hits. Freshman Jonnah Godinger came in under pressure and calmly recorded the final out to earn the save and seal the playoff win.
Offensively, Angel Mota sparked the Senators’ attack, going 1-for-2 with 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases. Azad Antia also made his presence felt, contributing a hit and swiping 2 bases of his own.
With the victory, the Senators now advance to take on #2 seed Baruch High School tomorrow, weather permitting, at Central Park’s North Meadow Field. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
Come out and support the Senators as they look to keep their playoff run alive!
