What a fantastic day for HSAS Cross Country! On a beautiful fall morning this past Saturday at Van Cortlandt Park, our Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country Teams delivered outstanding performances at the Bronx Borough Championships, giving the Senators plenty to celebrate!
The Boys’ Varsity Team turned in a tremendous performance, capturing 2nd place in the Bronx! Leading the way once again was senior Declan Olds, who raced to an impressive 4th-place finish in 17:34! Sophomore Robert Tarbutton was right behind him, finishing 7th with an outstanding time of 18:21.
But the depth of this team was just as impressive! Three more Senators broke the 20-minute barrier: Mateu Rothman-Simon, Gauvain Hardouin, and Dylan Eldridge. What a terrific team effort!
The Girls’ Team also had an outstanding day, bringing home 3rd place in the Bronx! Amelia Lo Cascio and Keira Elinson led the way for the Senators, helping the team secure another fantastic borough finish. Congratulations to our girls on an excellent performance!
And we’re not done yet!
Both teams have their sights set on the next big challenge: the prestigious NYC City Championships, featuring the 20 fastest schools in New York City! The Senators will be back at Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday, November 7th, ready to compete against the city’s best.
Congratulations to all our runners and coaches on a tremendous showing! We are incredibly proud of the hard work, determination, and team spirit these athletes continue to demonstrate. Let’s keep the momentum going, Senators! The best is yet to come!
