The Girls Basketball opened their 2023-24 season with a 60-27 victory over local rival Marie Curie HS. Leading the way for the Senators was Junior Magdalena Martini who posted a game high 25 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. Senior Nathalia Dominguez also had a big game posting a triple double scoring 17 points grabbing 11 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists. Sophomore Myla Choi chipped in with 12 points of her own.

“It was a great start of the season for us. The girls played hard and they played together. We are excited about this season”, said Head Coach Ryan Hondorf.

The Senators take to it to the old gym on Friday, December 15th when they take on City College Academy of the arts at 4:30PM.

Boys Basketball lost a close game to local rival Marie Curie HS by a score of 59-49. The Senators started off slow falling behind by as many as 16 points but used a late third quarter early fourth quarter run to trim the lead down to only 3 points, with only few minutes left. However, the Senators couldn’t complete the comeback and fell valiantly short.

The Senators where led by junior Boubacar Diallo who posted a double double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, sophomore Patrick Spencer who had 13 points and sophomore Zach Brem posted a game high 15 rebounds.

The boys next game is on the road December 13th against In-Tech Academy.
