The entire 9th grade boarded buses for our annual day trip to Old Sturbridge Village, MA. Interacting with the local townspeople, our students investigated the solutions available to the community surrounding the effects of poverty. The culminating town hall meeting gave voice to every student who wished to share their findings in a New England townhall debate moderated by the town’s clerk. This first hand experience that replicates the nascent democracies of the early English speaking colonials will carry back into our AP Classrooms this month.
