On Thursday, April 4, HSAS was visited by Diane Burrows, from the League of Women Voters, who spoke to students about the history of voting rights in the United States, current challenges to suffrage, and the ways in which young people can ensure that their voices are heard in their own communities and beyond. The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization that was founded in 1920, which is the year in which the Nineteenth Amendment was ratified. The visit was organized by junior Mathilda Simons.
