More than 30 members of the HSAS Boys and Girls Track & Field teams proudly represented the school against the best competition in the Bronx. The Girls team earned an impressive 7th-place finish overall, while the Boys team battled their way to an outstanding 5th-place finish. The championship meet was filled with incredible performances and unforgettable moments. Leading the way for the Girls team was Tishya Mackie, who captured the Bronx Borough Championship in the Steeplechase, taking home the gold medal with a tremendous time of 9:17.07. Teammate Nadia Solomon also shined brightly, earning the silver medal in the same event to give HSAS an incredible 1-2 finish. Evalina Lock added to the Senators’ success with a strong 5th-place finish in the 800 meters, while the Girls 4×800 relay team powered their way to 5th place. The relay squad featured Eliza Pollack, Quinn Paterniti, Tishya Mackie, and Evalina Lock, who all delivered outstanding performances on the track. On the Boys side, Henry Mayne-Chang dominated the Discus competition, capturing the Bronx Borough Championship with a winning throw of 118 feet, 4 inches. Max Kirschner added another medal for the Senators, earning bronze in the Discus with an excellent performance of his own. The Boys 4×800 relay team of Declan Olds, Owen Mow, Max Kirschner, and Robert Tarbutton also delivered a tremendous effort, finishing 4th overall in a highly competitive race. Congratulations to both teams and to every student-athlete who represented HSAS with pride, determination, and heart throughout the season.
