With a thrilling win in the Semi Finals over local rival RKA by a score of 9-8, the Senators advanced to the NYC 1A Championship game against YWLS Astoria. The game will take place at Red Storm Field on the campus of St John’s University, Saturday June 8th at 1:00PM.
The Senators jumped to an early lead and were able to hold on for the thrilling victory. The Senators defense really shined. Jordyn Sickle and several outstanding plays at SS and Nora Demak made a game saving catch out in left field. Julie Fried was dominant on the mound, pitching a complete game. The game came down to the last out, RKA had bases loaded and Fried finished the game herself with a big time strikeout, her 10th of the game to propel the Senators to the Final.
