The HSAS softball team is currently in a tie for 1st place in the division after earning back-to-back wins, including a 5–4 victory over Theatre Arts Production Company School and a 23–19 win over Fannie Lou Hamer. The team showed strong discipline at the plate along with timely defensive execution, helping secure both wins.
In the 5–4 victory, Ruby Greenberg (CF) and Ashley Seo (SS) made key defensive plays to prevent extra-base hits and protect the lead, while Isabella Diaz delivered a dominant performance in the circle with 8 strikeouts. In the 23–19 win, Ashley Seo continued her strong defensive play at shortstop, and Brayda Callanta-Varner provided steady defense in center field. Offensively, Latifa Toure (LF) and Liliany Peguero (C) sparked the lineup with key hits, runs, and a combined 6 RBIs. In the circle, Josephine Levy pitched her first full game, showing tremendous resilience.
These wins would not be possible without our captains, Mary Greene, Avery Sammarco, Ruby Greenberg, and Isabella Diaz, whose leadership, mentorship, and passion continue to set the tone for the team, both on and off the playing field.
